1/10 2WD & AWD On-Road Class

Rules:

Battery

Standard hard-case 2S LiPo batteries (7.4V to 7.6V) are required ( cap at 60C) and limit charge voltage to exactly 8.40V

Motor

For standard Spec classes, you must retain the factory brushed motor or the specific kit electronics.

Chassis

  • Allowed Hop-Ups: In Spec classes, modifications are restricted. Changing the factory plastic pinion gear to a hardened steel pinion is highly recommended to prevent stripping under high carpet traction.

  • Suspension: Upgrading to oil-filled aluminum shocks or swapping spring stiffness (e.g., softer front springs and stiffer rears to manage high carpet grip) is typically allowed.

  • Minimum Ride Height: The chassis must not scrape the track surface. Tracks generally enforce a strict minimum ride height of 5.0mm to 5.5mm

Electronics

For standard Spec classes, you must retain the factory brushed esc or the specific kit electronics.

Suspension

  • Adjustable Turnbuckles: You are generally allowed to swap out the fixed factory plastic steering and upper suspension links for adjustable threaded turnbuckles. This lets you adjust camber (leaning the tires inward for corner grip) and steering toe.

  • Aluminum Shocks: Upgrading to precision aluminum fluid-filled coilover shocks is universally legal in open classes to prevent oil leaking and ensure consistent dampening.

  • Internal Shock Spacers (Droop Control): Because the Fazer Mk2 chassis lacks built-in droop screw adjustments, rules permit placing plastic spacers or O-rings inside the shock bodies underneath the piston. This limits how far the suspension can fully extend (droop), keeping the car flat and preventing dangerous rollovers on high-grip carpet.

  • Sway Bars / Anti-Roll Bars: Adding optional sway bar kits to tie the left and right suspension arms together is legally permitted to help minimize chassis roll through fast chicanes

Adjustments

  • Stock Plastic Arms Only: You must use the factory fixed-length plastic suspension arms. Upgrading to aftermarket turnbuckles or adjustable camber/toe links is strictly prohibited.

  • No Alternate Geometry: You cannot relocate shock positions beyond the factory holes provided on the stock shock towers and arms.

  • Shock Upgrades: Most spec classes require keeping the factory plastic shock bodies but permit you to change internal shock oil weights and spring stiffness to help tune out traction rolling.

Carpet Oval Specific Rules

  • Minimum Ride Height: The absolute strictest suspension rule at any carpet track is ride height, typically mandated at a minimum of 5.0mm to 5.5mm. No part of the chassis, screws, or suspension arms may drop below this limit.

  • Preload Adjustments: To achieve legal ride height, you must adjust the spring tension. You can use plastic preload clips or threaded shock collars to raise the car so it doesn't bottom out and slice the carpet fibers under hard braking or cornering.

  • Chassis Fasteners: Countersunk chassis screws must be completely flush or recessed. Any protruding, sharp metal beneath the car will fail tech inspection immediately.
